“A third to the poor”

Eid al-Adha ends at sundown tonight. This holiday retells the story of Abraham being asked to sacrifice his son. It is a time to celebrate with feasting and charity. Traditionally, an animal is sacrificed and one third of it given to the poor. Today we will consider how we practice charity and what we are willing to sacrifice for a better world.
