The theologian Thomas Moore writes that “Nothing is more challenging, nothing less sentimental, than the invitation of spirit to become who we are and not who we think we ought to be.” The St. John’s community has been through recent surprises and challenges. It is tempting during times such as these to quickly come up with one story, even though there are many different stories among you. What are the benefits of patience and curiosity, of taking the time to listen to one another and explore who you are and who you might be rather than who you think you should be or rushing to one quick “answer”?
