Please help with books for children

St. Aloysius on Reading Rd. (historically an orphanage, now an integrated network of mental health and specialized education services) serves children impacted by trauma who have behavioral issues causing them to lag behind their fellow students, socially and academically. They are referred to St. Al’s to learn how to cope with their trauma and catch up on their academics.  These at-risk children come from low-income households and are impacted by many challenges including a lack of strong reading skills blocking their opportunity for academic success.

To help these students strengthen their reading abilities, please consider supporting St. Al’s book drive to provide youngsters with age-appropriate and interesting books that will support their academic team’s efforts to help these special young people.

You can bring books to St. John’s before or after Sunday service or during office hours Mon-Thu. through Feb. 28.
