This past summer, Debbie Combs and Marc Baskind visited our Partner Church in Transylvania only shortly before John Kachuba and Mary Newman’s travels took them to the same little village and the Szentlaszlo church. Though our churches have been partnered for nearly 30 years, there is a power in meeting face to face. In Sunday’s service, our four St. John-ers will share something of their new understanding of what makes us similar and how we are different, and the importance of sharing a history with people half a world away. We will also enjoy our choir’s interpretation of Spirit of Life written by Carolyn McDade with a new arrangement of the Hungarian by our own Michael Pekel.
