Outreach Grants
Justice Ministry 2024 – 2025 Outreach Awards and Grants
The St. John’s Outreach Committee solicits nominations by Nov. 13 from a congregation member sponsor for a financial award or project grant to a local non-profit social justice organization for work in active representation, advocacy, and/or service.
Outreach grants and awards range from $500 to $2,000. St. John’s partner organizations, prior Outreach awardees and split-the-plate recipients are eligible.
The St. John’s member sponsor must not receive any direct benefit from the award. Those who work as paid employees for organizations would not directly benefit from an Outreach “project grant” (such as to purchase equipment) as they would from an Outreach “financial award” that supports general operations/salaries.
In accord with the congregation’s 2016 initiative, the committee will give priority to organizations working for racial justice. That priority is a way to encourage applicants to identify how organizations working on a range of issues, whether education, health, immigration, criminal justice, housing, poverty, environment or other, address the needs of marginalized persons of color.
E-mail the complete application of no more than four pages to Committee Chair Ashley Carpenter, outreach@stjohnsuu.org, and return a hard copy to the Outreach Committee mailbox in the church office, 320 Resor Ave., Cincinnati OH 45220, by Nov. 13, 2024. Click to download a nomination form.
