A Religious Look at Dracula

NOTE: 10:30 a.m. service at First Unitarian Church
Rev. Dennis McCarty will return to the pulpit to share “A Religious Look at Dracula.” Bram Stoker’s 1896 novel, Dracula, has become a classic of horror fiction. Yet vampire stories have changed a great deal from Stoker’s era to ours: vampires have shape-shifted in ways far more profound than just changing into bats. Rev. McCarty’s analysis will provide surprising insights into both Stoker’s culture and also trends in present-day American culture. It will make for an enjoyable–and surprisingly relevant–look at more than a century of vampire evolution.

FYI: St. John’s and First Unitarian (536 Linton St., at Reading Rd.) are sharing summer services again this year. The first two Sundays of July and August will be at St. John’s. The second two Sundays of each month will be at First Unitarian. On Aug. 31, the final Sunday in August, we will return to our individual congregations.

These combined services will start at 10:30 a.m. Please join us.
