“The most radical thing we can do is introduce people to one another” is a common refrain of the UUA’s Partner Church program. Reaching across a distance, spending time to listen, being willing to speak our deeper truths, all these things and more make friendship meaningful. I think we are comfortable with much of the social niceties of introducing people, while the deeper knowing remains a spiritual discipline worth practicing.
