All of us experience grief, but there are few opportunities to talk about it.

St. John’s UU Church is offering an hour a week where your grief is honored. Each week’s topic will provide an opportunity to share our own experiences and ask questions in a safe and supported space.

No need to register.
You do not need to be a member of the church. People of all faiths or no faith are welcome.
Attend all, one, or some of the in-person meetings.
Questions? Contact Rev. Mitra at 513-503-8600 or minister@stjohnsuu.org.

Our topics will be:

November 20 – “Normal” grief
November 27 – Holidays and grief
December 4 – What to do with your loved one’s belongings
December 11 – Changing relationships
December 18 — Physical impact of grief
(No meeting on December 25th)
January 1 – Hope

Thematic Thursdays

Are you interested in discussing big ideas? If so, consider participating in Thematic Thursdays, meeting weekly at 6 p.m. virtually. But not on Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, please watch “Mission: Joy” at home (or read The Book of Joy by Doug Abrams) before joining us in a Dec. 2 discussion:

We will start with a film as a source of inspiration for our discussion. You are welcome to watch “Mission: Joy” on your own or in community at church. In either case, it is important to register via the fDalai Lama kidding with Bishop Tutuilm link. Church access to the link is contingent upon individual registrations. It is important to the funders of independent films to track the number of viewers.

“Deeply moving and laugh-out-loud funny, ‘Mission: Joy’ is a documentary with unprecedented access to the unlikely friendship of two international icons who transcend religion: His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Tutu. In their final joint mission, these self-described mischievous brothers give a master class in how to create joy in a world that was never easy for them. They offer neuroscience-backed wisdom to help each of us live with more joy, despite circumstances.”

Nov. 18 View Mission: Joy starting at 6 p.m. in Krolfifer Fellowship Hall or independently
