Update on the family staying at Clifton United Methodist Church

St. John UU has been helping support the Kaziala family from the Congo, which is being served by the Sanctuary Congregation Coalition of Cincinnati. St. John’s is a solidarity congregation, meaning we don’t host families, but support a church that does. Volunteers from St. John’s assisted with the remodeling of space at CUMC into living space for a family and donated items.

The Kazialas (Pepe, Tatina Mabela and 3-year old Regina) are still completing the paperwork for asylum and were assigned a court date but it has been changed to a later date because of the coronavirus.

Tatina is expecting a baby girl around the middle of July and members of the coalition have started an Electronic Baby Shower

The family does not have anything for the baby and can use slightly used items and new items. The items in the electronic shower are just suggestions and any items would be greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions feel free to contact Amy Monson at amymagdic@gmail.com.  Please click on the button below to view the online signup sheet for more information and items that Tatina requested.

Thank you for your help.
