Forum – Refugees here in Cincinnati

St. John’s is a supportive part of the immigrant sanctuary network. With the overlapping needs of persons seeking asylum status as refugees, some of the more recent efforts have been focused on also aiding that group. When the Immigrant Dignity Coalition decided to see where it could be most helpful, it was decided that the temporary shelter originally prepared to house an immigrant family could also be used to serve the needs of a refugee family rather than having them being placed in a detention center. The practical and political situation changes frequently, and at this forum we’ll try to bring the congregation up-to-date on our involvement. February split-plate will be the Cincinnati Sanctuary and Solidarity Coalition.
