Family Separation, both of immigrants and refugees, has been in the news. We’d like to think of families being gathered closely around a table, yet we ourselves still feel pain when we think of those not with us during these holidays, due to death, broken relationships, moves, …Could this be why we respond so strongly to stories of family separation at our border? We will take time to privately focus on who is “missing” from our own tables this year and how they have been part of our own family story, and then share our reactions about the family separations our government is carrying out.
