Nuria Mora Muniz, a Spanish artist from Seville, has generously given to St. John’s her 10″ x 7″ ceramic artwork depicting Picasso’s Guernica (1937) with a colorful update to raise money for Ukrainians and other Europeans suffering persecution and hardship.

Mora Muniz exhibited many of her works in our Haehnle Gallery in May and June. She was moved by our efforts to raise money for the war in Ukraine and offered this beautiful piece of art for us to sell or auction.

This detailed ceramic artwork is on display in Haehnle Hall, our foyer, outside the coatroom.

Please contact Sandra Geiser (513-375-9766) or Nancy Greenlee (513-961-1938) if you would like more information.  The work will be auctioned on-line, with a starting bid of $250. Details about the original Guernica are also on the auction website. The auction closes August 25 at noon. Proceeds of the sale will be donated to Unitarian Universalist Service Committee Emergency Response Fund.

For questions about the auction, contact board member Ann Schuur at schuurann@gmail.com.
