New Contemporary Services
Celebrate Life Together! is casual and fast-paced. Services center on an upbeat message, presented with flair and excitement. Contemporary music performed by live musicians and recorded selections drive the tempo of the morning's presentation. Words to songs are projected on a screen that keeps heads up instead of being buried in a hymn book - with an enthusiastic song leader up front.
The central message of each service is supported by a variety of media. The presentation may be interspersed with videos, PowerPoint, drama, dance, testimonials, or group participation.
St. John's contemporary services are targeted to a diverse audience spanning a complete age range. Newcomers are warmly welcomed. Coffee and other beverages are available upon arrival and may be carried to seats. Information is available about the church and its programs with people around to answer questions. After the service, there is time for socializing over coffee and light treats.
The Program Planning Team needs an additional member to plan publicity and coordinate with the Publicity Committee. We can also use some additional support people for coffee preparation, greeters, musicians, and audio visual operators.
